Overview | Queensland Housing Investment Growth Initiative

Through the Queensland Housing Investment and Growth Initiative (QHIGI), we’re seeking partnerships with individuals, organisations, developers and housing providers to deliver more housing for those who need it.

QHIGI funding initiatives

We are delivering the QHIGI through 3 funding initiatives:

  • QuickStarts Qld – A capital investment program to accelerate planned acquisition, new construction and redevelopment opportunities to deliver new homes sooner. Round 2 opened on 1 December 2023.
  • Housing Investment Fund – Funding for partnered projects to increase social housing and additional affordable housing supply. No funding rounds are open currently.
  • Help to Home – A partnership with property owners, landlords and registered community housing providers to deliver private rental outcomes to people who are eligible for social housing. No funding rounds are open currently.

The first round of QuickStarts Qld closed in January 2022. We are now starting the second QuickStarts Qld procurement process to partner with more registered community housing providers and deliver much-needed social housing supply across Queensland.

QuickStarts Qld – round 2: How to get involved

The second round of QuickStarts Qld opened on 1 December 2023 and will close on 12 March 2024.
